Dang, they just don't make things like they used to.. I don't suppose it's still under warranty..?

Re: After 36 years of great service......
When I took it in to my local Chevy Dealership, I joked about it may still be under warranty as I showed him the warranty paperwork for my truck. The salesman laughed and then proceeded to tell me that it wasn't. He was impressed that I still have all the original paperwork for the truck (Original Bill of Sale, Warranty, protecto plate, Build Sheet, ETC...) They wanted $14.99 for the flasher, so I went to Schucks and picked it up for $9.99.

Re: After 36 years of great service......
You know, I didn't ask that. The one I did get from Schucks looked identical to the one at the dealership. It is in a clear housing so now I guess I can see the workings of a flasher.

Re: After 36 years of great service......
Speaking of flashers, does anyone reproduce the red/orange switch that says FLASHER on it in white that goes on the steering columns of the '68 Chevys? The one on mine is broken so all it says now is FL, guess you could call it a Florida switch now.

Re: After 36 years of great service......
The flasher knobs are available from various vendors. www.wiringharness.com has them and the particulars want to know if the column was a tilt, or not and what color the original knob is.
But, they are available.

Re: After 36 years of great service......
as far as i know you have to replace the whole turn signal switch to get the new red flasher knob. american autowire had the best price for me. of course, after i installed the new one and then looked at the old, i realized the new said HAZARD when the old said FLASHER

Did you give it the funeral it deserved? That is a trustworthy and faithful part... they don't make them like they used too.
