dont know what to do

i have a 75 chevy blazer with an 8 inch lift and i just put a 205 in it. i called to get a price on a new driveline the price came to ge around $350. i also need a new yoke for a 12 bolt rearend and the driveline guy said around $75 for that. this is going to cost alot so is there anything else i can do instead of buying a brand new one. would a junk yard be a good idea or should i try to make my own. also on the back of the 205 does there have to be a cv joint i didnt think so but i was told otherwise. if you could help me out i would greatly appreciate it.

Re: dont know what to do

nothing wrong with junkyard parts as long as you inspect them first... u joints etc are alot cheaper than buying a whole new driveline

Re: dont know what to do

Damn man thats spendy I would take some time and check the junkyards first. Make sure to inspect the drive lines closely though. If you can find a good one it should be alot cheaper even with u-joints.

Re: dont know what to do

You may be able to use a conversion u-joint to avoid having to replace the yoke. They run about $25 or so at Napa.
