Re: I love UPS!!

I hate UPS .
Just hope you don't have a claim for any thing damaged.
I shipped my almost new low miles trans from my 1954 car to some one I sold on ebay. The manual 3 speed is small not much bigger then a shoe box don't weight much ether.
It was well boxed lined with 2.5 " of solid Styrofoam then the trans wrapped in 4 layers of 1/2 carpet foam. the box was lined with 3/8 ply wood the trans was strapped to it. with some more padding to fill all voids.
The the box was all taped up with about a mile duck tape then packing tape.
Labeled with the normal this side up ,do not drop, heavy.

It went 1000 miles to the receiver who call me and said it was damaged really bad.

It was damaged when I received it back it had 2 of the front mounting ears bust off. The case was bust in two. the rear drive line support was crushed (Where to drive shaft ball fits on a enclosed drive line).

I could have thrown the trans by it self ,no box off my roof and not damaged it as bad as UPS did to it.

I spent days with UPS on the phone to get them to pay the damage all they would say is the packaging failed it not UPS's fault. They said it was because I used a used box. Some place in the fine print it must say they don't pay if you use a used box. What a bunch of crap.

The box I used was a very good box even if I just taped up the padding and foam with no box it would survive a good fall with no damage. Not to mention it also bust through the ply wood.

I guess they just tossed it out the airplane at 30000 foot.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I'm still pissed and this was 3 weeks ago.

Brian

Re: I love UPS!!

I got one of these. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EZ-WI...mZ230294566912 Still in the box but I did check it out. Looks like a nice harness and the wires do streach from the front to the back of the truck. Now if I could just pick a darn color I can put the harness in..

Re: I love UPS!!

I was at my moms house the day the UPS guy delivered her new compuer from Dell. I was across the street and watched the guy drop her computer out of the back of the truck onto the ground. The guy about crapped his pants when he heard me yell WHAT THE F!!
