The lowrider left me stranded today!

I had been out cruisin' today, went to wal mart and all was fine. On the way home from the store, the truck fizzled out and wouldn't start. No fuel pressure on the gauge. So I'm guessing the pump is out. Pump not making noise when the key is turned like normal. Dont know if it's a fuse but all the fuses on the panel look ok.

Had it towed home. Will dig into it next week.

Well that sucks. Electric pump, eh? What brand? I have a Holley blue pump... so far so good.

Re: The lowrider left me stranded today!

You have a carb on the BB, correct? If so, dump the electric pump and get yourself a mechanical pump.

I had one originally but elected to stay with the electric one in the pump because I wasn't sure if I had to remove the pump from the tank to be able to use the mechanical one..

I know you dont want to hear this.....but......everytime I had one blow and ECM2 fuse....its because the fuel pump was getting hot and overheating and blowing the fuse....

That's actually not that bad of news. I'd rather it be the pump than some short somewhere in the system that I'd have to track down.

Someone recommended the Mr. Gasket pump at Advanced Auto and a couple filters inline in place of the factory pump which is the tank now.

Re: The lowrider left me stranded today!

Are you using a "By-Pass" regulator? If not, the pump will heat up. A By-Pass reg will keep fuel flowing back to the tank and into the pump, cooler pump.
