Question Ground Strap Pics?

Does anybody have pics of where all the ground straps go on our trucks?. There have been alot of posts lately about electrical gremlins and proper ground straps. I have been one of them. Just curious. I think this would help a ton of members. Thanks

as these trucks rolled down the assembly line, ground straps and having a specific location to mounting them had no continuity..one truck the cab to frame strap might be on pass. side framerail, sometimes on the drivers side.the only strap that i have found to be the same on different trucks i've owned/seen is the engine block(which was actually mounted to the pass side rear boss of the head)to the frame.the body/cab strap has been placed in different positions. "bob"might have been on the line that assembled the frame to cab,but "bill"might mount it in a different location.

Can you buy new ground straps? Do they have to be the same as original or can they just be a wire? Most of the ground straps on my truck are shot, infact, I tested it the other day and the body and frame where not grounded at all. Could be a source of some of my many electrical problems. Ran a ground wire from the battery to the frame but I haven't gotten to the frame to the body yet.

I have one on each side of the engine extending from the rear outward valve cover bolts to bolts right into the firewall. I can get you more info or pictures if needed. I shot a ton of them before I started taking things apart recently.

You can use wire with crimp on connectors.
