Pics and stories and games, OH MY!

Well everybody loves pictures and stories so I figured I would give y’all something to look at for a minute. I am out driving around all day for my work. I have this one particular customer across town. On the other side of the block from this customer is a nice original looking black 72 CST. Every week when I go to see this customer, I drive a little farther down the road and “rubberneck” at the 72. Anyway, as I was making the circle by the 72 today I see THIS at the neighbor's house! Of course I pull a U-turn and talk to the two guys outside. Here is the story, the guy bought this K5 twenty years or so ago from the original owner. He added a tilt and replaced the driver rocker. Supposedly it is original paint other than the touched up rocker and a repair on the tailgate. (However, after looking at my cell phone pics it looks like the drivers door is a little off color, maybe not). It had factory A/C, single wall top, factory tint, and TOW HOOKS. Anyway, this truck wasn’t spotless, but it was VERY pretty. Its main attribute is by far the tow hooks.

Let’s play a little game. Anybody see any FACTORY options that shouldn’t be on a NON CST truck?…the rallies and bug shield of course are later year/aftermarket and don't count, its harder to spot than than that. Jtrux, you can’t play, I already told you the answer.

By the way, the neighbor said that the black 72 CST across the street could be bought for around $4k. It looks VERY clean and straight. I’m gonna stop and talk to him and see what it’s worth just for the heck of it.

Sport side mirrors and chrome bumpers. I guess some might say air, but I beleive you could order that on any model.

Well, I believe I see a chrome 4wd shifter, the headlight buckets are missing the black paint. Other than that, if you make the interior white and add on some black side trim, it looks a lot like my truck. The tinted windows and the chrome exhaust tip aren't stock either

Well damn, I thought it would take longer than that. I was talking about the chrome transfer case shifter. He had it along with some of the seat hardware chromed a few years ago. And I knew someone would mention the tint and exhaust...that's why I mentioned "FACTORY" options.

Re: Pics and stories and games, OH MY!

I'm pretty sure they were the standard side markers that came on the base models. The van ones that y'all are talking about have a smoother surface IIRC.

I walked up to it one day. It really does look like a diamond in the rough. I can't ever catch anybody at home to talk to though. Don't worry, I won't give up. Somebody needs to get it before it sits and rots any longer.

Dude is this guy in Helotes? There is a black cst for sale there right off the road. If it is in Helotes I've spoken to him. He's an older gentleman. Nice guy. He said that his daughter drove the Blazer in college. That Blazer is pretty much complete. From the looks of all the trees I think we're talking about the same guy and Blazer. Let me know if I'm right. Later, Mario.

Yep, that sounds like it. The neighbor told me about the daughter driving it for a while so I'm sure it's the same one. It doesn't appear that its being advertised for sale though. I've been driving by it for a year and haven't seen a sign on it. Did he advertise it in the past???

Dang Bouncytruck you got good eyes. Or mine are really bad.

I don't think the emblems below the front side markers are correct, are they?

My 72 has the same side markers and the emblem I swaped out the 350 marker for the 454 to match my engine swap

Mine has the 350 emblems below the side markers. They aren't as cool as Burt's though...

For some reason I was thinking the none CST did not have the emblems below the side marker.

No he hasn't advertised it. It is nice though. I was told about $4,500. I think I need to stop by and "check" on it. Mario

Skidder, the sticks on a CST should be chrome. The non-CST trucks had them painted black.

Bouncy is right. Keep in mind he is talking about floor shifters, i.e. transfer case and manual trans sticks. The auto column shift levers were all chrome regardless.
