Bolt On Electric Fans?

I'm looking for a bolt an electic fan/shroud set up. I believe CPP makes one, are there others out there?

flex-a-lite makes a ton of different sized fans in shroud.

measure your radiator mounting surface, go to their site, and pick one.

Have a look in the FAQ "Another Cheap Elec. Fan Build", You can get a Jeep fan that sits in a stock small block fan shroud. A slot in the botom and drill 2 holes is all that's required. The fan is available new for $65. Unless you want something with a little more "bling".

I have used their stuff before, and depending where you are they build a dual 12" setup that should be an easy install to a stock radiator in our trucks

This is a 3000 cfm fan with a Jegs aftermarket radiator. I made the bottom braket and the top brakets for mounting the radiator. I could not resist the $170.00 radiator price tag....

This flex-a-lite is the perfect size but a lot of money for something that requires a little fabrication. I don't mind the fabrication part, it's the money!

I went with "Flexalite" I did not mind spending $475.00 on them. I was not going to risk my new built motor to save couple of hundred dollars...

dude. you have to strip your fan and clutch assy off your harmonic ballancer, remove your fan shroud, figure out how you're going to install the new fan and shroud, wire them with ign 12v, fuse the wiring (maybe), run a thermostat if your fan has variable speed...


not much plug and play.... unless you want to bolt the electric fan blades to your stock fan assy.

what I mean is, does it come with everthing you need to make it work. you don't have to go and buy a bunch of extra little pieces relays, switches, etc. to hook it up, if i'm gonna order something i don't wanna have to make 30 trips to the parts store to make it work....I have already ran my power wire for this. My truck is in the reassembly stage (check my sig) and this is the prime time to be putting one of these in.

FYI.....Make sure your alternator can handle some of these fans. Some pull a hefty amp draw.

I also went with the Jeep fan last Spring. Never any overheating. Stays around 185 to 190 all day long, (even in traffic), and that's with an auto trans cooler in front. I have about $60 total including the used fan & new sensor wiring.

There was a member on here about a year back that was selling them for around $25, but can't remember who it was.

I just got this one. 3500 cfm... Got it for cheap. Refurbished units. Worked perfectly.
You get them on ebay...

Yep.
Ebay Flexalite fans

I have used them already.. They SUCK a TON. Very quite. I made my own controller. I dont like those controllers that you shove through the radiator. I bought a single pole 195 switch, installed that into the intake manifold with a relay and it works perfect and doesnt have that crappy setup.

Look in Summit Racing at the "Be Cool" fan line. The Spal dual 11" fans are sold there under the Be-Cool name. These fans are very good and easy to install, since they come with their own shrouds. I have a set in my 84 GMC and also a set in my daily driver 91 Silverado. I used "Mill Strap aluminum" from the local hardware outlet to make the brackets and bolted the fans right up close to the radiator fins. These fans move around 2850 SCFM and are good enough to work with one fan running as needed and the second as a back-up on hot days or hauling heavy loads. The price for a set is not too bad either.

I got my jeep fan from my local Chrysler dealer for $42 through my friends used car dealership account. I like the clean look of the stock fan shroud. It is amazing how perfectly they fit together and how easy the install is. It defiantly cools the engine well. We put one on my friends big block truck and it cools just fine.
