Oil pressure

I was working on my truck today. Finally got my wifes camaro done. Anyway i broke the metal line going from the oil pressure gauge to the block. I tried to use plastic kit from O'riellys but none of there fittings will go on the back of the stock oil pressure gauge. The truck is a 68 chevy with a 250 6 cyl. I tried to just take one off my brothers 72 with a v8 and the line was alot shorter. So my question is there some way to use the plastic line kit? Or does some one make the metal line i need? Any help would be great, I don't like driving it with out the gauge and i really dont want an aftermarket cluttering up my dash. Thanks.

Re: Oil pressure

Napa sells that fitting for the original gauge. Go to an industrial part of town with one and they should have a big fittings section. Also, if you need the copper tubing, Autometer sells the tubing and if you'll send me a reminder, I'll get you pics of how I ran mine on a V8 just recently. It looks pretty good and may give you ideas for the L6. This might inspire me to fix the line in my L6 too!

Re: Oil pressure

Here are some pics of how I ran my V8 line. I did essentially the same thing with my L6:

Re: Oil pressure

that looks great. so you can get the copper line and all the fittings at a local parts house to make the oil pressure gauge work?

Re: Oil pressure

Yep, that's the same as the Autometer brand. However, you'll need the fittings for the stock gauge. Reread my post above. Just take a guage in with you when going to the NAPA. If you still can't get the fitting, PM me.
