steering column compatablity
I have a chance to get a steering column out of a 93. Does anyone know if it will bolt up in my 79 without any mods. I can get the ignition switch parts too if those would need to be changed.

Re: steering column compatablity
probably not.. the wipers and all arent on the stalks on a 79.. plus a newer model has more bells and whistles usually like cruise.. im betting the turn signal wiring wont line up right either or the linkage... im not sure that the column will bolt directly in either or even to the lower shaft

Re: steering column compatablity
I think the column mount is different (I have a 93 column to go in one of my trucks - floor shift column) It is do able though, the actual column on these were the same from 73-94 or whenever they started putting airbags in. Wiring will be necessary for all the switches to work.

Re: steering column compatablity
thanks Cptn, I'm wanting to put in a b&m automatic shifter and found a 93 floorshifter column. All i'd need is ignition horn and turnsignals.
