Re: taking out headlight dimmer switch?
The dimmer switch or the light switch? The light switch to the left of the steering wheel has a button top. Push it and pull the knob out. Then unscrew the bezel and nut holding it in. The wiper knob is just a bezel and nut holding it in place.

Pull the knob out first, then press the button on top, and pull the rest of the way. Might want to disconnect the battery ground first cause your lights will go on.

I almost broke mine before some one told me about that button. Pictures say it all.

Re: taking out headlight dimmer switch?
it can be a total pain in the 12 bolt to remove, so be prepaired to try 5 or 6 times. Twist the knob, push, pull, and cuss.
That's the secret, you have to use the correct 4 letter words. |

Re: taking out headlight dimmer switch?
If you pull it out, then press the button, it'll come right out the rest of the way.

Oh, the wiper knob has a set screw that enables you to remove the knob. You have to do that before you can access the nut that holds the bezel and switch in place.

Re: taking out headlight dimmer switch?
Yah I love those headlight switches. I have only had one pull out the first time while pushing the button. Most are a pita! If all else fails I pull hard enough on the knob and the knob pulls of the end of the shaft. I then finish pulling the switch and fight with it once it is out of the dash. Once the shaft finally comes out of the old switch I then tap it back in the knob and slide it in the new switch.
