Cover for clutch rod in firewall?
OK, every cab I have is missing a cover plate or plug where the clutch rod goes through, regardless of whether or not it had a manual tranny. I can't seem to find any aftermarket covers. Does such a thing exist? What originally covered this hole on an automatic trans truck?

Re: Cover for clutch rod in firewall?
The 68 automatics had a plastic plug in them but I have only seen one. The ones for the 71-72's were fastened on with two screws and they are an easy install by drilling two small holes for the screws.

Re: Cover for clutch rod in firewall?
I have one on mine... I bought it years ago from LMC-not sure.
Here's their link. I'm sure one of the vendors that support the site can help you out if you call them. http://www.lmctruck.com/ICATALOG/CB/full.aspx?page=136 |

Re: Cover for clutch rod in firewall?
I suppose I'll just make one and either screw it in place from the inside, or use seam sealer or rtv and 'glue' it on.

Bob, I got a couple covers out in the building. They are for the Automatic trucks. I get $10 a piece for them. Thanks Randy

Re: Cover for clutch rod in firewall?
Sorry, misread where you actually need to cover the hole.
The only other place where I've seen them is on a vintage Corvette site. |
