3/4 ton to 1/2 ton

Background: I have a 61 C10 that I'm puuting bags on and swapping disc brakes. I bought a 3/4 ton 8 lug front clip off a 85 C10 from a junkyard. I plan on swapping the whole crossmember in. I'll also be adding drop spindles and 6 lug discs.

Question #1: Will 1/2 ton spindles bolt onto 3/4 ton control arms? I'm assuming no. Which brings me to my next question.

Question #2: Crossmembers are all the same, correct? So if I buy all new 1/2 ton upper/lower arms and cross shafts, it should all bolt right up correct?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: 3/4 ton to 1/2 ton

as far as i know you will need lower control arms because the ball joint diameters are different, all else should be the same.
You can put 88 up 6 lug brakes rotors and spindles on your setup now.
Check out my build thread for more info.

Re: 3/4 ton to 1/2 ton

Will the lower arm off a 1/2 ton bolt up to the crossmember of the 3/4 ton?

The 3/4 ton ones that are on it are rusted and if I just swap them out for new 1/2 ton ones then I won't have to worry about mix-matching any ball joints or spindles or anything.
