Need ideas on what $500 should go for?
I have a '67 swb. Holidays are coming up, and I need $500 gone...lol. Should be easy, but its not really easy to me. I have a air bag kit, just a basic in place of all 4 coils, nothing crazy. I have had this truck for 13 years, and its all the same. I just need ideas, to maybe help me out.
I'll place in the suspension forum to, for more ideas in that area. |

If you need $500 gone, you can send it to me. Otherwise, I'm not sure what you are asking.
If you are wanting to sell $500 worth of something off of your truck, you need to be a subscribing member to do so.

I think he means that he needs to spend $500 on his truck to change it around some.
Give us more info... If I had $500 laying around right now, I'd go for the new style am/fm stereo radio made to fit our trucks. |

My truck has the disk brakes on front, done 15 years ago. I jacked the truck up a few weeks ago, and the front is as tight as my '08 Ram...lol. I can't redo anything on the front end, tie rods and all are great. Shane I get the hint, I'll put that on my list of things to do. big_al_71 Its the holidays and its a gift, from someone else, to me. I can't give a gift to someone else. Thats a very good thought, nothing wrong with that. IMO, its the best I have gotten, but I cant do that with this money. |

Well it is tough to say, what does your truck need? I am assuming nothing since you need suggestions. Repack the wheel bearings, and change all the fluids. Fill it with gas and go for a road trip.

Re: Need ideas on what $500 should go for?
Spend it on maintenance, or just save the money. Do you have any idea what direction you want to go with the truck? If not, you will find yourself just wasting the money.

Start an ING high yield savings account and start earning interest. No sense throwing money at something just because you can.

Re: Need ideas on what $500 should go for?
Hey BG. It sounds like your truck is all stock at this time and you want to change it up a bit. And you have bought a basic air bag kit and you are wanting to buy some things to go along with the bags to complete the suspension system.
Once you decide how much drop you want you can decide on dropped spindles dropped shocks c notch kit adjustable panhard bar compressor and valves for the bags and larger diameter wheels n tires front and rear sway bars power steering if you don't have it I could go on and on with things available for our trucks. You just have to do a little research and decide what you need/want for yours and go shopping.

Re: Need ideas on what $500 should go for?
My truck has been thru a lot, and it just has a little 350, with a 454 RV cam. Tranny went out, 400t, and I have plans to have a rebuild. I have built a few trannys, but spending the cash for a 1 year warrenty is great, 1 less thing to worry about.
I'm sticking with my suspension first. I have the step notch, and plans to move the stock trailing arms to drop this thing on the ground in back, if my tires don't hit first. The front 3in spindles will have to wait. If I don't get shorties, and move my exhaust up first, then the spindles are useless. Its shorties first, and I found them on Jegs for $250 on the coated ones. |

Re: Need ideas on what $500 should go for?
I can't tell you how to spend your $500... but I would probably consider buying GM stock. Would have been cheaper a couple weeks ago though...
I just can't help thinking that in five years or so (maybe a bit longer), it might really pay off!
