Intake bolts leaking on my Performer RPM
Recently I noticed these bolts leaking and used the white liquid thread sealer but it started leaking again. Do you apply and install or "wait" and install?. Is there something else better?. Thanks

Permatex #2 on the threads or just good old stop leak in the coolant does wonders and save a lot of agravation sometimes.

Yep they allways leak. I've tried Ultra Gray(best made) and pipe dope, and both nothing seems to work for that long. Allways oil coming threw the intake bolts.

I just bought some Permatex a few minutes ago in the the little white plastic can. It has the brush attached to the inside of the lid and it's black. The guy at the parts store said it works great. Now it just started to rain!

I use Permatex liquid the Red in the small brush on can,he one thats reall sticky and you get it all over your fingers,and it cured my leak,also had good luck with black permatex silicone type in tube Hi Temp,pu t a good coat all the way down one side of bolt then a dab under bolt head should seal it up.suppose you could make little intake bolt gaskets-LOL.make sure the bolts and thread are good and clean befor applying anything maybe spray with carb cleaner or brake clean just dont get in eye it burns!

Often when doing pneumatic or hydraulic servicing I'll use a washer with a special captive rubber O ring inside the outer steel shell. Theyre kind of spendy but if your just buying 12 for manifold bolts it might be money well spent. Check on the Mcmaster-Carr website for sealing washers.

Try carb cleaner in the hole before you use the sealant and it will stop. If you already have sealant on them and they leak you'll have to chase the threads with a tap shoot carb cleaner and then re-seal.

I had the same problem. I solved it with "Red" silicon applied to each bolt that leaked. That solved the problem for me. The "Red" Silicon is high temp and had stopped a lot of leak problems for me.
