Summit rear disc conversion kit

Is the axle flange on the 1971-96 caprice/impala the same as the 12 bolt truck flange? I was looking at the summit catalog today and they have a rear disc brake conversion kit that has a 5x5 bolt pattern. The description says:

Disc Brake, Rear, 11.30 in. Diameter Rotors, 1-Piston Calipers, Parking Brake, Chevy, Caprice/Impala, Kit

The instructions also say its for a 10/12 bolt.

So I'm thinking unless the flange is different, this should work. It caught my eye because it is the least expensive kit I've seen to date at $479.00

Here is the link.

yes, I was JUST looking at those. Some of these kits are new. I have not seen prices so low for these kits. Going rate for a rear disc conversion kit until now seemed to be $500-$650, but now I am seeing some new ones come out. Its about time!

There are two on performanceonline.com, one is $419 and the other is $449. The more expensive one caught my eye because the ebrake is hidden under the rotor.

Justin, thanks, I will contact you.

we are about $10.00 under
summit. This price is only good for 67-72 members.
The kit is 100%complete
and 100%bolt on and even
has the rubber brake hoses
for your calipers. The price is there so lets see the orders .

Not to bring up an old dead horse........but come on really? All we do is try and provide a good level of service and every once in a while joke around with the guys, and every time I turn around, you are busting our balls.

In case anyone is interested here is a pic of the exact brake kit except this is With the e-brake.

retail on this kit is like $599.00 I believe. I can go as low $575.00 on them, but I don't have a ton of room.

on the same kit from Summit which is without e-brake I can go $475.00. I know it's more than Summit, but to them it's just a loss leader. So they are losing on that kit in hopes that you buy other stuff.

Does you kit come with calipers? Will this kit work with 15"x8" rallies?

I need a e-brake to pass inspection in this lovely state of NY.

Shane, go easy on Justin. He is only on this board to help us guys out. I can positively say he would bend over backwards to assist us. All I'm saying is he didn't mean anything by that comment, I think it was just misinterpreted.

Ok, off soap box.

Could you source cross drilled rotors to use with that kit? If so, how much more?

I am pretty sure that those are front discs, I do not see any way to mount?

I did a search a few months ago when I was hunting disk brake pieces for the Dana 60 in my 71 GMC 3/4 ton and found this site which leads to a lot of others.
