Re: First car/trucks!
I still have my first car, but I don't have any old photos of it readily accessible (my mom has them scrap-booked somewhere). Here's one of the older photos I have right after I stripped the car and just before I cut out the floor pan from the trunk to the firewall...
...and then what it looks like, now...

Re: First car/trucks!
Why yes it is lol. That was the only pic I could find . That was payback, We got this girls house with 105 rolls the weekend before( If you ever need to buy that much TP just say you had Mexican for dinner, they will stop asking questions). They had just got started on my house when the weird neighbor up the street came out on his porch (2:30 AM), started barking like a dog and howling LOL . It would have been much worse.

Re: First car/trucks!
No pics of my first either, but it was a 1965 GMC short step. My step-dad had swapped in a 265 Straight 6 from a 70 Chevy Van. Thing was a beast. Still had it untill about 4 yrs ago, when I sold it back to his family for a cousin to fix up in school. He hasn't started fixin' it yet, but I've told him I must have pics when done.

Re: First car/trucks!
67 Firebird, which all my friends called it "The Firechicken" However mine had Corvette Ralleys and it did have the 400 in it too. Man those where the days. I'd fill it up on Friday and again on Monday so I could get to school. hahaha Heck looking at the picture the only differences are the wheels and the chrome trim around the fender openings. Heck even that color is dead on. Last edited by kizer; 12-15-2008 at 07:04 PM. |

Re: First car/trucks!
Bought this 64 when I was 14. Spent a few years and all my spare money to get it ready for when I was legal to drive.

Re: First car/trucks!
I don't have any pics but my first car was a 1961 Bel Air four door sedan. I bought it in '85 from the original owner which was 61 years old when he bought it new. The paint had faded on it and the old fella decided to paint the car light blue w/white top(originally aqua green) with a cheap brush and house paint. I didn't know anything about working on a car and got very little help on it. I started sanding parts to bare metal and primering, replaced the drivers front fender and drove the wheels off of it. My budget was non-existant b/c I was a basketball player and that was about all I did in my spare time year 'round. It was never much to talk about but it ran like a sewing machine(283/PG) but wouldn't get out of its own way! I was always easy to spot, driving or walking!!

Re: First car/trucks!
My first car was supposed to be a '55 Bel Air 2-door hardtop. My Dad bought for me when I was a little kid. It needed some work and it was supposed have been done by the time I turned 16. Later on when I was about 14 my Dad offered me his lifted Toyota 4x4 truck instead. I was young and dumb and I really liked that truck so I ended up with that instead. It was a fun truck, but now that I look back, I really regret not keeping that '55. I don't have digital pics of either one.

Re: First car/trucks!
Still have her 1970 Nova paid $300 bucks 125,000 miles (260,000 now) when I was 16 back in 1990. Got it from the original owner. Had a 250 3 on the tree, now has a 327 w/ 4speed saginaw, this summer I'll put in a 92 Camaro T-5. It has 74 Nova front disc and rear multileaf springs and 8.5 w/ 3.08 (changing to 3.73 this summer). 79 Cadillac rear disc backing plates and calipers w/ 81 Firebird rotors.
[IMG][/IMG] This was taken before the disc swap. [IMG][/IMG] 2nd car was a 72 Nova 3rd was a 68 C-10 4th is a 72 Skylark Suncoupe 5th is a 50 Chevy 3100 6th was a 70 Mustang 7th was a 72 GMC 8th was a 72 C10 short fleet 9th was a 72 Suburban 10th is a 71 Nova (for my 10yo daughters first car) 11th is a 76 C-10 (my Grandpas now my 6yo sons first truck) 12th is a 71 K-20 As you can see I am in love with older girls, er women

Re: First car/trucks!
Look kinda familiar?
Bought it when i was 13, dad got a loan and i payed it off by working with him and mowing lawns. That pic was right after changing it all over to 5 lug and putting front end on. Last edited by scotts62; 12-17-2008 at 11:05 AM. Reason: added stuff.. |

Re: First car/trucks!
Mine was a '69 camaro RS/SS 396 4spd. Got in a lot of trouble lost my license, had to sell it yada yada yada. But I replaced it with a '67 RS/SS 350 convertible that I still have. They weren't worth much in the 80's.
