Rock Sliders

Anyone got a few pics of rock sliders on a '72? I might consider purchasing if they are cheap but they should be real easy to make as well... I would really like to see how everyone attached them and what material was used.

Also what about sliders for the rear quarters... they seem to get banged up pretty good and can use sliders as much as the rockers

Re: Rock Sliders

Here is a picture of Burt4x4's rock sliders

And of course vtblazer's rocker guards (nice picture of them by the way)
I probably would of just crawled under the Blazer to take the picture of them

Re: Rock Sliders

Heh heh, good one.

First set were just 2x4 iron, 2nd set leans more towards boat siding.

36"s of ground clearance in the last pic.

Re: Rock Sliders

I looked for a pic of the underside of mine but can't find one:

Basically my rockers were rusted out so I cut them out (outer & inner) and then notched the ends of the rocker boxes and pressed the sliders up in there with a floor jack. Once I had them in the spot I wanted them in I welded the 2x3 square tubing to the rockerbox lip, I folded the "lip" of the rocker box down and welded all the way along the tube to the rockerbox. My boxes were not rusted and very solid. I also coated the inside of the rockerboxes with POR15(silver) before I welded the tube on.
Happy Holidays!
Burt
