door help

Im trying to tear down my doors to get to the internals and started to do it andrealized i couldnt. I couldnt get the handles and window cranks off. Im not sure if i didnt pull them hard enough in fear of braiking them or if their is something i need to do. Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like he didn't. Henson, there is a small clip behind the handles. You can get them off with a small screw driver, but if you will run down to oriely's or autozone they sell a tool for under ten bucks. Makes life much easier.

Or get a shop rag and slide it behind the handle and move it back and forth and watch for the clip that falls out

Wow and I've been using a bent butter knife that my mom never missed for the last 34 years. Same one still in the tool box. Its silver too. Bet it cost more tha 10$??? Maybe I can get that tool, staiten out the knife and give it back so her silver set is complete once again...

you can save the money and use a shop towel laying around the shop. shimmy the towel in behind the handel and the clip will pop right off.
