super low drop
does anyone have any pics of 60-66 truck lowered 6+ inches? i have a set of 3 inch springs and thinking about getting 3 inch spindles and running 2 1/2 blocks and 4 or 5 inch springs with a notch but would like to see how low that will get it im going for the drag all the time look but not sure how well it will work with the stock front xmember hanging so low but any pics or anything will help thanks

Sorry, no pics of the 60-66 range you're seeking.
I do have a pic of my 68 w/a 6/8 drop. 3" spindles + 1 coil cut off the original springs, 1.25" later model sway bar w/urethane bushings, off the shlef Gabriel gas shocks. The rear has air bags in place of the coils, 1.5" lowering blocks, shock relocators, bolt-in c-notches, adj Panhard bar, & off the shelf Gabriel gas shocks.

I used to drive my '62 around with an all-the-time height of 2 1/2 inches. It took some work to get it there including a 3" channel. It was a pain to drive around without the adjustability of air-ride.

havent really been able to find much there on way low stuff but im just trying to figure out what i want to do on the suspention im up in the air about doing really low without air ride or bolt in notch and leaving front xmember alone and putting bags in place of coils or buying a front xmember and a big notch and make it lay low i like all 3 ways i just change my mind alot ha ha

Give me a week or so and check back with me. I dont have any pics yet. As I am in the process of going lower. I have a 66 short step. I am running 3 inch blocks in the rear and gonna have 5 inch coils in the rear, C-notch, drop shocks and new panhard bar. I am going for the tail dragger rat look. I am gonna go 8 in the rear and only 3 in the front. Before I started I was about 5 in rear and 3 in the front. Look at my pic on my profile. Should be done in a week or two

Pic of my 64'.
3" drop springs in the front with 2 1/2" drop spindles. In the Back 5" drop springs with 1" drop block. 26" tall front tires and 28 1/2" tall back tires. Narrowed the front control arms 1 1/2" per side and moved the ball joints forward 1".

ok i like the looks of both i want my front lower than rear tho im going to put in a big notch. and the biggest block i could find for my truck is a 2 1/2 i was thinking about stacking 2 of the 2 inch ones and running a 5 inch spring in the rear and for the front 3 inch spindles and 3 inch spprings with a little cut off.. and what was the purpose of doing all the a arm work?

For sure do not stack blocks. We go to our local steelyard/machine shop and have a thick set of 3 inch blocks made and drilled. Another idea that the old timers around here used to do is cut off the back of a extra set of control arms and use them as blocks. It works well but does not look as clean. If you dont have the resources to have the blocks made. let me know, I can have them made for about $10 and ship them out to you.

I narrowed the control arms because of the wheels that I'm running in the front. They are 15x8 and have a 3 3/8 backspace. This put the tire way to close to the fender and looked wierd. I moved the ball joint forward to center the wheel in the fender well. When you drop the front that much the geometry of the front suspension pushs the front wheel back in the chassis and looks a bit off. If you go much more than 3" with a drop block you will run into problems with the trailing arms hitting stuff on the road (same as the s-10 guys that run a 5" drop block in the rear).
The first two pics are of the stock front control arms. The thrid is with the control arms narrowed. Looks ten times better imo.

ok bird7263 i will deff get back in touch with you about having some blocks made and i will just run a 3 inch block witha 5 inch spring and buy a weld in notch from SD for the rear. that should get me close to where i want. and hopefully i dont run into any problems with the front wheels rubbing the outer fender im running a brand new set of 80s ralley wheels
