manual to auto swap
I need a complete set of auto trans linkage and tranny inspection cover for T350/NP205 swap.
We are removing SM465/NP205 setup and need all parts before getting started. Refresh my memory on the need to move cross-member and modify drive lines. Also does clutch pedal just remove or is auto brake assemby need to R/R manual assembly? How is backup light hookup different? All tips appriciated.

The auto crossmember is different than the manual one. The manual uses bellhousing mounts and a "hanger" for the t-case while the auto uses an crossmember that runs side to side. If memory serves, the auto t-case has different splines than the manual so you should get the whole enchilada or plan to spend big bucks on an adapter from Advance Adapters. Not sure on linkage.

dont know about yours, but everything on mine is a bolt up. so far, the only thing i am having to deal with is the stud that comes off the frame that the linkage hooks too, allthough i am not sure about that, my crossmember woks though, as do the drive shafts

trans hump
Does anyone have a complete list of parts needed for the swap?
Is there a difference in tranny humps? I have never attempted this process before and still need the encouragement or discouragement to go for it. One of the biggest worries I have is how to get the unit down to the ground and out from under truck and then to get next one up into place.

Bob I have never done the swap myself but as far as i know every thing is supposed the change over easily, as far as the clutch ped. you just have to remove it. But I do know for lifting the trans and transfer up you can remove the hump and run a pipe from door to door and use a comealong to help get them into position. But you may not like this way,especialy if your doors or paint is realy good ( I never have been that fortunite)

When you come up to get that 250 6 cylinder I may be able to hook you up with some of what you need. I have the shifter linkage, the inspection cover and a 4x4 TH350 core if you want it. Also, when I swapped from 4 speed to auto the t-case crossmember was the same for both.

I am still trying to plan that trip up to get the motor. I hope it isn't a storage problem for you. The trans linkage sounds like what I need so filling some of my other needs on trip would be good.

tranny humps for the 4 wheel drive models are the same from what I've read, so no changes necessary. I"m doing the swap currently, but moving to a 700R4 from the SM465. I keep reading about different crossmembers; think that maybe that only applies for 2 wheel drive versions but haven't been able to confirm yet. Try wheeling and dealing with a local (small fry) junk yard-you may get lucky and pick the parts up really cheap.
