Does anyone have a link to a picture of a 72 in med gold poly paint code 526?
Even better would be a two tone gold/white. Thanks.

Re: 72 medium gold poly

Trying again after 4 years. Please post em if you got em.

In the threads I've found it appears that I'm seeing 2 different golds both with a 526 code. One is more yellow and the other is more brown. TCP global paint chips look like the browner of the two and that's the gold I remember. I'll post some pics for reference that are from other threads. Let me know which you believe to be correct, or if the color changed year to year and kept the same code. (I don't think that is the case) Pictures would really help me determine what I'm looking for.
Thanks.

Hey Bill, I feel your pain on the Med Gold color confusion. SS Tim posted a link to a thread where I was trying to buy a matching radio delete for my truck. Well, I ended up buying the one listed in that thread as Med Gold but It isn't even close to matching. My truck was originaly med gold with a white top. I purchased it from the original owners son who had the exterior of the truck repainted the original color and covered up the white top and tailgate lettering. However, the firewall and interior are all original. So, I say all that to say this... in post #3 you posted two photos, in person, mytruck looks the same as the truck on the trailer and the radio delete plate looks like the truck on the right. My truck is a 1970 and I'm not positive what year the delete plate came from. There are a bunch of pics of my truck in the link below.

Re: 72 medium gold poly

Here is a 70 in the 526 Med Gold Poly. Same shade for 70-72. Might have more for you later. That hack and whack picture has so much color shift it is not representative.

Also this Longhorn is I believe a 526 as well.

I see way more trucks the color of the 70 that you put up and that's what doesn't jive with my memory or the chips. The truck down the road was also a 70. In original paint parked outside in AZ it was still darker (like the chips) then the examples I'm finding on the board. Something your first chip card shows is that 526 was not available on 72 C 10-30 trucks. That could explain why no one has posted a picture for my original request in post #1.

Very possible. Went and checked a paste up I did crossing 72 sales to trade names and sure enough the 526 is not offered on the 10-30 brochure color chart.

That is exactly what my truck looked like brand new (except for the wheels of course!) Now that I'm in college I hope to get it looking like that again.

Re: 72 medium gold poly

Last one. A couple of things to consider that people may be using the earlier 551 code (ditzler 23048) paint from 68 and it is a darker richer gold. The other is that this color may very well change if applied as a BC/CC.

Re: 72 medium gold poly

Here is a color sample and you might try a PM to cericd for some pictures. Also note how much shift there is with light angle.

Re: 72 medium gold poly

Here's the '70 I painted that was originally that color. I didn't do the interior and you can't tell.
