dana 60 hub locks
Anyone know how to get these hubs apart? Is there a C type clip or some sort of retainer holding these together by where my screwdriver is pointing? I can't see anything and I don't want to break the threaded dial. I want to clean them up and gently blast them clean of paint but I want them apart so I can get all the sand out of them.
Second question is why are my old Dana 44 hubs bigger than the new Dana 60? Wish I could use the old heavy dials. The 60 came from a CUCV. Thanks Bob

Re: dana 60 hub locks
I have never had one like your Dana 60 apart so cannot offer any advice. However, if you want to sell your old 44 lockouts I would be interested. Thanks.

Hmmm... if I'm not mistaken I believe the ones on a 44 just pop out. Are you sure they aren't like that..?

Re: dana 60 hub locks
Got them on an 84 CUCV I bought for the dana 60. Look like what I'v see on the CUCVs before, I just have never taken these apart before. I can't figure out how they're held together. Can't find any type of "clip" or whatever may be holding the two parts together to release the spring.
