Fan problem -
I finally got my heater fixed up in my '67! I replaced the fuse box, switch for the fan, fan, heater core, and just about everything else. The fan was working great! I hooked up the hoses so I would actually have heat, and turned on the fan, and it blew out hot air - for about 10 seconds - and quit. I do have original wiring for the heater installed. Does anyone have any ideas???

Re: Fan problem -
First thing to check would be fuse for the fan if it's not running. If OK remove the fan motor then run a temp wires straight off the battery posts see if its running to rule out wiring.

Re: Fan problem -
Maybe have a look at the blower relay and check the speed resistor found in the heater box in the pass side footwell.

Re: Fan problem -
Did the fan quit or did it stop blowing hot air? If it's the hot air quit, but still blowing check the water level and make sure the water pump and hoses are correct. Make sure the door is open for the heat to come through also.

Re: Fan problem -
The fan just quit, right after I turned on the heat. It actually blew out hot air for a few seconds, then quit. I haven't pulled the fuse yet, it was too dark, but what would cause the fuse to pop? Could I have installed the fan incorrectly? It looked pretty straightforward to me.

Re: Fan problem -
Did you remember to reinstall the ground wire on the fan?
Also, pull all of the wiring plugs and make sure the connections aren't corroded. You might get lucky and find a bad connection by turning the fan on and jiggling the connections individually, just don't get shocked
