Part Numbers for Big Block PS Brackets with LWP - 1970 C10
I'm in the process of getting PS brackets for the later model 454 (I think 1987) in my 1970 c10. The url below is an ebay sale of supposedly licensed GM resto parts.
http://tinyurl.com/cts3oo I asked the seller if it would work for my truck and he replied yes, but said he didnt have any GM part numbers for the ones he sells. I thought that was strange for licensed repro parts... My local GM dealer allowed me to look at their old books and I came up with the following part numbers: 3925527 Bracket, 3925528 Brace, 3792380 Bolt, and 3967424 Spacer. All except the Spacer are discontinued. On a different website (paceperformance.com) I found the following GM Restoration parts: 14015392 Lower, 14015391 Support, and 3967424 Spacer (as above). They also reference a special pulley 14084343 (no a/c). The GM dealer confirmed these as good numbers, but the pieces are different from the ebay parts. I've seen discussion about brackets but never part numbers. Can anyone shed some light on my situation. I'm very unsure about what to get. I've bought parts before that ultimately were wrong, so maybe I'm being overly cautious. Thanks. |

Part Numbers for Big Block PS Brackets with LWP - 1970 C10
Hi, The numbers you got out of the old GM parts book are for the original 68-72 short water pump brackets that requires a remote reservoir pump. The numbers from Pace are for long water pump bracket used from 73-85. The brackets from the Ebay auction are 1969 only long water pump. They would work on your truck as long as you have a long water pump set up. I've heard complaints about those brackets not lining up too well. You need to get brackets to match the water pump you have on the engine.
