Manual Brakes
I have looked through previous post and cant find a pic, I have a 1970 C10 that I have converted from drum brakes to front and rear disk brakes 5, 4.75 lug. I am going to be using a wilwood manual master cylinder and proportioning valve, my question is how do I mount the master cylinder because the piece the pushed into the booster which I am not using anymore is on the outside of the firewall.

i'm not sure I follow...which "piece" are you referring? Are you talking about the bracket that held the booster to the firewall? Or, are you referring to the pushrod? Posting a photo would help,
If it is the bracket for the booster, you do not need to use it...the new master cylinder bolts directly to the firewall.

I figured it out I though the brake pedal pivoted on the out side of the firewall so I wasn't sure how it was going to work I should have looked at it more before I said anything, Thank you though

Garagedude,... could you post some pics? I'm interested in using the new Wilwood master cylinder. Which one did you get? The 1" bore or the 1-1/8" bore?

I haven't order mine yet as far as the bore I was going to do some more reading before I chose which size, What are your guys thoughts on the bore size?

The 1" bore should be fine for a manual application - that's what I run...if you're going to attach it to a booster, I would go with the 1 1/8" bore.

It's all torn down right now...I can bolt it to the firewall for a quickie photo during the week, but you probably want to see the brake lines, etc?

I drilled a hole a little lower on the brake pedal shaft than the original pin location to give me a little more leverage and firewall clearance. I used a spherical rod end as my attachment to the pedal shaft. I also fabricated a safety bracket to retain the push rod in case it came dislodged from the boot of the master cylinder.
