cpp firewall pedal assembly 47-53 help

Has anyone purchased the firewall mounted pedal assembly from classic performance products. I did. I ordered it from Classic Parts of America and just finally received it as it had to be drop shipped from the manufacture. I get it and as soon as I take it out I know something don't seem right and when I went out to my truck I see how it fits I realized that I had been sent the wrong one. The pedal assembly is suppose to replace the dash/column support and use the bolts for the upper column mount. It doesn't even come close to touching the dash.

For anyone that has ordered and received this item please tell me it isn't suppose to be like this. In the directions it clearly shows that it uses the column mount bolts.

Right now I'm being bounced back and forth from classic and cpp finding out what to do. All that was in the box was the pedal assembly, not even the directions were in the box(good thing they have it on their website). To top it off they don't stamp the item number on the pedal assembly, looks like it went from the welding table to the box. No packing slip either. I had to send pictures to cpp to show them that its not the right one, even sent a picture showing me measuring the length from where it bolts to the firewall to where its suppose to bolt to the upper column mount bolts. Im waiting for a response from cpp on the pictures I sent.

Re: cpp firewall pedal assembly 47-53 help

ok here they are. I was going to get a picture of the stock dash/upper column mount/brace but its snowing and its dark out now and my truck is outside in a carport. I will try tomorrow.

I did get a email back from the guy I was talking to on the phone from CPP. He forwarded my pictures to I guess the guy who designs or researches or something like that.

Re: cpp firewall pedal assembly 47-53 help

OK finally got through to someone that understood what I was saying. The guy I was talking to on the phone from CPP had me send him some photos of what I received. He then forwarded them to their truck specialist who took no time calling me back. He said as soon as he seen the pictures he knew I had received the wrong part. They are sending me prepaid label, I just have to drop it off at ups and they will send me the correct one no extra charge.

No hard feelings for Classic Parts or CPP and Im glad as I have lots of items I want to order from both. Next time Im going to order directly from CPP to filter out any confusion.

do you mean is it suppose to mount to the upper column mount or does it come with a upper column mount?

It is suppose to bolt to the underside of the dash using the bolts for the upper column mount. Directions state that it replaces the dash/upper column support brace. It doesn't include a upper column mount itself.

Re: cpp firewall pedal assembly 47-53 help

Yes the upper support, that should make for a good anchor point for the column
