how low can i go
I posted this topic yesterday but didn't get many replies. I was wondering if someone could tell me what the maximum you can get away with when lowering the rear of a 70 model c-10 with a trac bar suspension? A tech guy at cpp told me 3 inches but I have a few friends that say you can go 4 or maybe even 5 inches and still have ok drivability. If someone out there has experience with this please post, I plan on ordering a coil and shock kit from cpp as soon as I have an answer.

Re: how low can i go
I always drop mine 6 inches in the back. I use the super track bar from Early Classic Enterprises. I actually use all stuff from ECE. I've read way too many bad words about CPP, poor customer service, missing or wrong hardware, etc.

I agree, call ECE. Not only will they have the right stuff, they will probably tell you exactly what you need. By far the best customer service.

Re: how low can i go
Take these guys advice and use ECE stuff. They will sell you exactly what you need. You could shop around and try to save money, but you wont save time. ECE.

Re: how low can i go
I also went the ECE route.....Stan is THE MAN!!
We even ignored the directions and jacked up a brake line on my disk brake conversion and he sent me another one at NO COST.... I then called him about other questions I had about these trucks, (even about stuff I wasnt buying from them) and he was nothing but helpful! I recommend them to ANYONE!! Those guys are GREAT!! Re: how low can i go
Like the others have said, you'd be hard pressed to beat ECE. I lowered mine 3.5" in front with 2.5 drop spindles & 1" drop springs and 5" drop springs in the rear. Did the front sway bar, track bar, air shocks in the rear, gas in front. Love the ride. One of the air shocks was bad when they came in, I called and spoke to Stan and he sent out a new pair right away. Great products, great service. Stan IS the man.
Regards, Paul

Re: how low can i go
Plus one for ECE - I have their entire rear suspension kit. x-member,arms,shock relocate and track bar.
AND IT ALL CAME WITH HARDWARE. I am a customer for the life of my truck. My answer to the other question would be 4" in the rear. 5"+ is when a c-notch comes in. |
