Color advice

I need some help with my color choices. I've got a '71 with '69 front end and I'm at the point where i need to decide on color. I've got a '72 nova thats a bright red and I think that same color will look nice on my '71. I'm thinking a two tone either red with white or something different that some may not like - a flat red with gloss red two tone. Sounds funny, but if i pull it off, it will look awesome. My question is on the interior though. I've got the '71 door panels with the woodgrain trim and a black seat. What color would you go with on the dash and doors? My interior is decent now, so I don't know if I should paint the metal a gloss red with black carpet or do black metal with a red carpet or ???? I like the red/black houndstooth seats, which would match the outside, but is red carpet and interior to much red with a red exterior? How about red/black houndstooth seat and black carpet? This is not going to be an original truck, but a semi-custom with the original look to it. I'm wanting to keep all my woodgrain trim outside and two-tone it somehow, but I can't figure out the interior. Any suggestions or pics? Someone posted a while back a blazer with flat red paint and i really like it. I really don't like white on the interior because my door panels and dash pad are already black. Thoughts????

Re: Color advice

It depends on how much you want to break up the color in the interior.1st,how about red with black two tone outside? It`s classic, yet never offered on these trucks. Then, your interior scheme will carry through. You could play up the two-tone or stay black or red.The paint could go either way.Maybe just the houndstooth seat to bring both colors together.

Resale red is usually a hit.. I like Hugger Orange, Bronze, or even the dark blue and white. I am not a Ochre or Olive fan, but they are growing on me...

Re: Color advice

Its funny that my first car got painted white (actually a '63 chevy truck in high school). My next couple cars somehow were white. After that, i had several cars and trucks that were black. I didn't look for black cars, thats just what came up. About two years ago, I bought a Honda Shadow that was red. I wanted a black one, but this one was priced right and looked great. I was going to paint it black but never did. After that, I got a good deal on a 72 nova that was red. Almost same color as my Shadow. Now I'm wanting this truck to match the nova and shadow. It seems my cars all go in patterns. White, then black, now red. Go figure.
