leafs,shocks,confusion

hey all ive just put a set of ece 4" drop leafs with 1.5" shackles.so ive got 5.5" of drop. so then i start looking for shocks.should i use a 4 or 5"drop shock? so then i start looking at the mounting wondering if i need a relocator bracket with leafs? i dont think i do. my mount has two locations ...see pic should i use the rear hole in pic to get a more vertical shock line? but that also decreases shock length. then i started to wonder why gm would put both holes in the bracket ...any ideas.....so there is my confusion.and if you are also now then at least im not the only one. but if your not any info is helpful...thanks

You've shortened the distance between the top and bottom mounts for the shocks. So you should go with a shorter shock so you don't bottom the stock length ones out. Use the Search feature in this forum as shocks have been discussed at considerable length. I and others have even posted specific shock part numbers and specs that might help.

Well, you are setting at ride height now, measure the current lenght of your shock then just go to the parts store and get a shock with at least 3" of travel in each direction. As far as which mounting position, I don't know.
