1988 2wd front crossmember fit a 1983 c-10?
Will a 1988 chevy/gmc 2wd crossmember fit a 1983 c-10?
I am trying to lift my 2wd GMC c-10. I can't find any lifts higher than 3" but the 1988 c1500 can go high as 6". People have said it can...but has anyone out there really done this? have pics? I can get a 1988 crossmember pretty cheap, but I dont want to have to modify everything! Any Help Thanks. P.S. First time posting and this site rocks!!! Re: 1988 2wd front crossmember fit a 1983 c-10?
The 6" lift for the 88 C1500 is for the newer body style, the frames are completely different than the 87 & down trucks. On the 87 & down trucks the crossmember unbolts, starting in 88 C1500 crossmember is part of the frame, unless it's a Blazer, Suburban or Crew Cab then it's like the 87 & down till 1991.

Welcome to the site!
Primer70 is right you are looking at custom work if you want to go higher. We do have a guy that is on here that did a all custom front end and it's like 6". Maybe he will see this and post for ya.. Trav
