Question 72 Door panels into 69 doors, is it possible?

I wolud like to know if I can install the 72 door panels into the doors of my 69 C10 pick up, I notice that the 72`s uses some door fasteners which are very different than 69 can I adapt them?.

The part that the window knob attaches to on a 72 is longer to get past the plastic.

Re: 72 Door panels into 69 doors, is it possible?

The 72 door latch post and window regulator post are longer on a 72 because the panels are thicker at that point. So if you put 72 panels on a 69 door you will have to use the 72 hardware as well. Hope that makes sence.

EDIT...CG beat me to it.

Re: 72 Door panels into 69 doors, is it possible?

Critter is correct. I have a 72 that has a 71 cab, clip, and doors. I was going to keep all the best door goodies and install in the 71 doors with the 72 panels. Upon inspection the 72 and 71 door remote handle and window regulator have the same bolt pattern, but the shaft that the handles go on is shorter on the 71. I used new regulators and latch actuators for a 72(the stock ones were better).
One more important thing is that the screw holes for the older panels appear to be on the same location as the holes for the plastic clips, they weren't. I had to drill new holes for the plastic clips. Once that was done, it looked sweet.
Hope this helps.
