easiest way to remove doors w/ PW&PL ??

going to remove the doors from my parts cab, its power windows and locks.. the last time I did it I pulled all the cables out from the doors (unhooked @ motor & solenoid) but someone told me there is an easier way..

Mike,

Unless you remove the wireing harness from the cab and i dont think that will be the easier way, I would do it the way you did before.

ahh someone told me there was a connector somewhere around the kick panels where I could disconnect....

That could be possible ive never been into that part of my truck

I did do a full power conversion on my S10 with a stock harness form a blazer form the junk yard and the harness dose have a production brake just inside the cab but it runs thru the kick panlel so it would be much more work to pull it out that way than to disconnect it at the door.

But it may be set up different on our full size trucks sorry im not much help to ya!

well I just took them doors off... if you remove the kick panel trim, there is a big old rubber grommet with a thick cable of wires coming thru and going up, you cant miss it.. about 6-8 inches above that are 3 connectors.. disconnect them, drill out the rivets on the little boot that connects the door to the cab, and pull the whole thing thru, and thats that.. MUCH MUCH easier than doing it the way I did the first time. you live and you learn!
