Rear Axle Question
I have an 86 c-10. I blew up the 10 bolt (as some of you saw). I can get one out of a 77 2WD Suburban here local. I wondered if anyone on here can tell me what gears may have been in it and if it will indeed fit my 86. It is the 5 lug. If it will fit, I am getting it ASAP.

Re: Rear Axle Question
the rear end is probably a 12 bolt it will fit just fine it the same bolt pattern as long as it's 1/2 ton, and I bet it has 3.08 to 4.11 gears

Re: Rear Axle Question
Thanks for the response! I will probably just go gear counting to determine the gears in it. Glad to know it will fit though.

Re: Rear Axle Question
Along the same topic, does the rear sway bar from a 2wd Suburban fit on the SWB trucks without alot of mods?

Re: Rear Axle Question
yes. you may have to use 3" exhaust clamps for axle mounting(or something along those lines)and create link ends, get it!

Re: Rear Axle Question
Thanks, I will get it and make it work. Fabricating doesn't scare me.
