Repo Tachs
I used the search to no avail.
Is there different quality of repo tachs? If so who has the best? Thanks Ron

Re: Repo Tachs
The one I bought from LMC works fine. They come 8 cylinder only, so I had to have it recalibrated for my V-6.

Re: Repo Tachs
I thought I had seen on here that all the tachs out there are not of the same Quality but when I searched I had no luck. That is the reason I asked the question.
As far as price just the tach is about $90.00. They can be made to fit in a 3 hole dash I htink(I have never done) but they are for a full guage set up. If you were wanting a factory tach you should just keep an eye out for a full setup on the parts board. It would be cheaper than pieceing a setup together. Ron

Re: Repo Tachs
I bought one from Brother's - they slash the price on them from time to time. They aren't very accurate, but they do look factory, and if you're not real performance oriented, they work just fine.

Re: Repo Tachs
I debated about factory vs aftermarket for a long time. I finally went aftermarket but tried to find one that did not stand out too bad. this is what I ended up with-

Re: Repo Tachs
Ace in the hole,
Can you give out some info on your tach? What brand is it and where did you find it? I have a couple of old dashes I need to redo.

Installed very easily, I took a hole saw and cut the plastic lens out, cut the front tin plate and the back tin plate. Then assembled it all and cut the printed circuit board where I needed to. The gauge mounts so simple right to the front bezel with a plastic screw on ring. As for wiring it, you need power, ground and the signal connections along with the dash light connections. I am going to tap off the ground screw for all the grounds, off the temperature gauge feed screw for power (need to figure out which side) and run a lead from my hei dist. for the signal. You can also use a signal from a alternator lead. The lights I will just tap into the wire for the dash lights on the harness. You end up cutting one line of the circuit board but it's just the ground line. I cleared the plastic off and re grounded the one side with the screw you see in the pic
