Im thinking mid 70s cause the 73/74's still used hubcaps, but not completely sure. I would guess 75 or 76 was first year

I think it was `76 because that`s when alot of other changes happened with trim,like hubcaps and bucket seats/consoles.But,I`m not positive.The grille changed in`75,so it might have been then

I know they didn't come on any 67-72 trucks!

My 75 had them, but I got it right around the time the 76 models were showing up. However it was somne special trim package. 454 sportie stepside, something like that.

My first memory of that style of wheel was in '76. Chevy had a Bicentennial theme going with some white vehicles that had these wheels in white, with trim rings and centers, and with red and blue pin striping on the body. I don't recall the interior specifics, but blue comes to mind. I remember these specifically on Impalas and Full-size trucks. If the LUV truck was available trimmed like that, I don't recall it. If I ever saw a Blazer trimmed the same way, that's gone from my memory files, too.

This was also the time that Chevy had the Big 10's, GMC had the Gentleman Jim, etc.

I guess the theme was that poor performaning engines had to be disguised with trim and graphics packages....and we had the trim stuff going on!

I am kinda struggling with idea of what to put on my truck. I have the stock steel rims on now. I had a buddy paint my rims to match the truck with plans to put on beauty rings and baby moons. I got the rings on and they look great. I am having a hell of a time getting baby moons to fit. I got the moons from hubcap mikes. I tried working with them and since they have such CRAPPY customer support I have just about given up. They were to put off to listen to my problem. NOTE to self NEVER buy ANYTHING from them. Enough on that.
My rims are measuring 10 1/2 From what I have found baby moons dont come in that size. Any ideas? I really would like to stay some what period correct.

BTW, Rallys look at home on these trucks IMO. Most people don't even know they didn't come on them.

Same year as GMC.

I love the look of a two-tone with rallyes.It gives them a factory luxury sport.A warmed up motor and a sport streering wheel and you`re done.

I had a new '76 Silverado 4x4 that came with deep / wide ones on it stock, & that was the first year I ever remember seeing them on. Thought they were cool looking.

Also had a new '85 Silverado 2WD that came with them.

Thought they looked good enough to retro-a set onto my oldie.

Most people think they were an option for our years, they've been used so often.
