Re: whatchall think of this truck..
You may want to remove the link in your first post then, as everyone can clearly see it regardless. I don't know how plentiful SWB 4x4's are there, but it would probably sell fairly quick around here.

Re: whatchall think of this truck..
That truck looks a lil rough. I'd check the gear oil in the pumkins (diffs) and the transfer case really close for metal fines before parting with any money. How's the frame?

Re: whatchall think of this truck..
Would be a great truck, if you want to sink probably 4 or 5 thousand in it, I would pass on that one, especially if you are not flush with money right now, remember you are 16, you are going to find hundreds if not thousands of things you want, keep your cash until you find something you have to have, not just want. Re: whatchall think of this truck..
I had 3 trucks when I was 16. I had a 58 Chevy Apache shortbed from SC, a 67 C-10 that came from SC, and an 86 Toyota truck from NY. I lived in NY at the time. I drove the 67 in the spring/summer/fall, as snow allowed, and the Toyota in the winter. I didn't "finish" the 67 until I was 26, and I ended up giving my dad the 58 last year and he hasn't really touched it either.
To be honest, all I see is a decent frame and running gear. $500. How nice is this "just restored" stepside bed? Will he raise the price for it, or stay at 1K? I'd offer $800 for the whole truck with the nice bed

Re: whatchall think of this truck..
If it were me ( bear in mind im a sucker) I would have no problem paying 1000 for it, IF it runs and drives, even if not well. But, you have to keep in mind your finances.
Technically, I could afford to buy a ferrari (if financed), but then I would not have money enough to eat probably.....so if it really puts a dent in your finances and style of living, don't do it. There will be other trucks man |

Re: whatchall think of this truck..

I'm not real knowledgeable on the short 4wd steppers but the front bed mounts look awfully close to the cab to me and it looks like the side of the frame may have been welded on under those mounts.(first pic) Shortened maybe??? I would look at that real close.... LockDoc

Re: whatchall think of this truck..
Good call, y'all might be on to something....
Here's a pic of my factory shortbed frame with the bed off, there should at least be a couple/few inches between the front bed mount and back of cab... BUT... I thought blazers used a completely different mounting system than shortbed trucks? The mounting locations match my cab... just too far forward... so could it be they improperly whacked down a longbed? Again, I am NO blazer guy, I just thought they used different mounts. Could be totally wrong and it could be a blazer frame. The front wheels look "correct" in the wheel well, soooooooo????

Re: whatchall think of this truck..
I think I can see what Leon is seeing... does this look like a cut/weld to anyone else?
This could be the reason there is currently no bed on the truck, even though he has 2 extras. The frame is too short! I'm gonna vote a great big fat PASS!

Re: whatchall think of this truck..
Here I was thinking of a $500 offer and see if he jumps. If he cut the frame short then you'll have to have a flatbed or fix his mistake.
Offer the $500 and see how hungery he is. |

Re: whatchall think of this truck..
I'd pass. Looks hacked to me. Pretty much all you are buying it for is the chassis and motor and the chassis looks questionable.

Re: whatchall think of this truck..
I'm thinking $500 tops, you could beat on it a little bit and have fun even if the frame is to short, and if you want a 4x4 you could always use the running gear and frame brackets on your current truck and make a 4x4 if thats what you wanted to do. JMO
