Rally wheel question
Wondering if there are any markings or anything on the early-mid 80s truck rallies that denote what width they are. My 84 shorty has 8" rallies on the back and what i thought were 7's on the front. Took both front wheels off to swap front coils and with both fronts laying on the ground, noticed the backspacing on the wheels was different. One measures 3 3/4" and the other 4" backspace but both wheels look overall the same width 7". Wheels have tires on them and was thinking there might be a way to be certain on the width before a trip to the tire shop. Thanks guys.

Re: Rally wheel question
I do not know about the markings but it sounds like you may have a truck 15x7 and a van 15x6.5 .

Re: Rally wheel question
Frank, I think youre right. Ive got 2" belltech drop spindles and if that is the case, the 6 1/2 wheel rubs on the lip of the lower cont. arm but the 7 doesnt. I figured it would be the other way around. Ive read threads here saying that it was a hit and miss type deal with rallies and drop spindles but i didnt think the 2" spindles were a prob with any wheel. Guess they're all different. Gonna try to find another 7". Thanks

Re: Rally wheel question
i have 15 by 6.5, 7 and 8" wheels and the 6.5 are 4" bs, the 7's are 3 3/4" bs and the 8's are 4" bs. They are usually stamped on the backside what sizes they are, ie, 15 by 7.

Re: Rally wheel question
Wheels should also have a code eg AJ stamped by valve stem ...good way to check if wheels are correct and matching;they will also have a production date and size on reverse side eg 15 x 7 JJ 10 12 79
