86 S10 worth?
Hey guys,
I was looking at an 86 S10 extended cab with the 4 banger in it. The truck has no title, has been lowered, and needs a little bodywork. Honestly, I just need the frame for a project. What's the rest of the stuff worth, motor, bed, doors, interior, etc.??? If I could recoup some of my money that would be awesome.

It really depends on what shape the truck is in and how much you are paying for it? I have bought a couple older trucks for $100. One ran, one didn't. If you are paying $100 for it, you could almost scrap everything and get your money back.

Re: 86 S10 worth?
it runs and drives. Passenger side window is busted out and needs a little bodywork, but I just want the rolling chassis. It does have the 700r4 which would be nice for my project.

If 700R4 is bolted to the 4 cyl. it will not work with a V8. I think you could possibly amake out well.
What are your plans for the chassis?

Re: 86 S10 worth?
Have you checked into just getting a longbed standard cab S10 for your swap. The way I understood it. If your 50's truck was originally a longbed then get a extended cab frame, if not. use the longbed standard cab frame so the wheels will line up in the fender wells. because there is so many inches difference between the two frames.

Re: 86 S10 worth?
I might be interested in the interior pieces. I need a good dash and well basically everything for my GF's truck. So if you buy it I might help you get some of your cash back.

Re: 86 S10 worth?
Well, definitely bigger, you have me by a 100 lbs and 4 inches. Smarter is to be debated and better looking is a definite negative.
Now the real difference would be hair. Yours is on your head, mine is everywhere else. |
