Value of a 72 2WD frame?

I posted this in the WIW forum, but I guess no one scrolls that far down. I found a 72 2WD project, tub is trash, nothing usable. Very little salvagable except a double wall top and even it is missing the hatch. What would you be willing to pay for it? He came down on his price some, and very tempted to buy it, but not wanting to pay too much for it. The frame is the only real thing of value on this truck and all I want off it.

I've seen good frames listed for up to $800-$1000, but I've also seen junk trucks not selling for the same.

what comes with it - title + glovebox + VIN plate = add some more value...

I think Bouncytruck is about right. That having been said, and knowing your capabilities. Why not build a custom frame? You could do what you want to handle power AND torsional rigidity for handling and do it for the same cost. You are going to have to find a tub anyway, and four wheel drives are easier to find. You could yank the tub off a decent 4wd roller and place it on a custom chassis.

I already have a 69 tub I have completely redone that is nearly ready for paint so that is taken care of. I was all set to build a frame until I saw this one for sale.

Since I don't have your skills, I've discovered you can buy custom frames from http://www.jimmeyerracing.com/. I believe that the Fesler Blazer is sitting on a Jim Meyer frame. I'm sure they aren't cheap though...

Don't do like I did and use the stock frame. I wished I would have went ahead a built a 2x4 frame for my blazer. The only thing is you do all that work for something that is not going to be seen but by you so it is a hard decision. If I had it to do over again though I would build my own. JM2C

I kept mine pretty much stock (looking).. just added a cage for rigidity. Mine is more of an E ticket hotrod... big motor and driveline.... but you cant really tell unless you look underneath or open the hood. Ive lowered it with air bags all the way around, but its only a 4-6 drop... so no frame sectioning.
You 'know' youre better off if you want a radical custom (like the two at last weeks Del Mar Goodguys) to "go nuts" with your own frame design. That wouldnt be My choice.... Im not a Radial Custom, 22" hoops, scrape the rockers and cruise slow kind of guy.
Id rather worry about tire shake...

If I build a custom chassis, it is getting a complete C6 driveline. Otherwise it would be a mild build that would leave some dollars in my pocket instead of a few pennies

Bouncy is pretty close, I think a 72 is worth just a hair
more than a 70 or 71 because of the unique rear frame
rails. This however is just my opinion. If for some weird
off chance you are not going to get it let me know. TY

If you want it, be my guest, it is on OKC craigslist for $1000, said he would take $800. Let me remind you, VERY VERY RUSTED OUT. I found one place where the frame has delamination but it is right where you would "C" notch the frame.
