Best $15 I ever spent.... Corvette Servo!

Bought a $15 corvette servo kit which came with all the required seals. My truck is a 1987 2wd with the 700r4. Transmission was not slipping, but sluggish in the shifts, not very firm.

I was able to remove the old servo assembly and install the new one in a matter of 15 minutes. It was very easy to access on my truck, would probably be a bit more difficult on a car.

Immediately noticed a difference. Driving normally, the truck has such a nice positive firm shift. Not annoying shifts like a full blown shift kit though.

When I got on it, it chirped 2nd gear! (I'm proud of you little 305!).

IMO, a must have, and should have been installed from factory. Great for normal cruising, but it will deliver if you want to get up and GO.

by any chance do you have pics of the swap and perhaps a write up of the procedure in case others want to do this mod?

Unfortunately I did not take any pics. I did use this website as a quick reference. There are good breakdown views of the process on this site. http://s-series.org/component/option...m,6/task,item/

Re: Best $15 I ever spent.... Corvette Servo!

Can you give me a specific year servo to use from a Corvette?

If so, I can do a write-up on this just like I did with the LED tail light upgrade from LMC

Got mine from bulkpart.com. Someone on the board here recommended buying from them. Shipping was very quick and it came with everything needed for the install. Part number A74905BK

You can get them off ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CORVE...Q5fAccessories

or here
http://racetransmissions.com/store/p...roducts_id/420

Any Corvette style servo for a 700r4/60e/65e will work.

Just remove the accumulator spring behind the cover on the right side, that helps quite a bit.

Watch out for those slip rings. Make sure they are in good. You can **** up the tranny and even bust the case around the servo.
