TH400 Dust Cover Fix not right...grind it?
I couldnt find a dust cover for my tranny in the junk yard so I bought one from Summit Racing. It doesnt fit right but I can tell that it should. Seems the cut out for the rms isnt deep enough. Anyone see a problem with taking a grinder to it?
Thanks

No Problem - I spent an hour grinding mine - not impressed with the fit on that part

Re: TH400 Dust Cover Fix not right...grind it?
I had to cut mine to fit. Its for a 700r4 but the starter was not letting it clear. I cut it, and it fit fine afterwards.

Does you engine have the one piece rear main seal ? The older covers for the two piece seal will need to be cut to clear, ran into this problem before. Our 1988 C1500 has a one piece seal and a TH400, that would be a direct fit if you are having the one piece seal size problem.
