cheapest by far, hands down winner is: the US Postal Service (as long as it's smaller stuff.) The box can't be over 70 lbs and Maximum length and girth: 130 inches.
Also, check out their flat-rate boxes. If I remember right there's two sizes. They're one flat rate no matter how heavy it is.

There is a whole range of flat rate box sizes now. Small, several regular ones, and even a larger flat rate size.

Flat rate is best with "heavier than big" peices.Figure they give you the box.Postal rates are from highest to cheapest (qiuckest to slowest) cost:
*Express...buyer can wait a day or two, unless they want to pay difference. *Priority...usually worth the cost, only takes a day or two longer. *Parcel Post...this one they don`t even list ion their sign board. It`s by ar the cheapest way to ship anything that doesn`t fit a flat rate box. For items too large to use postal service Greyhound Xpress shipping is by far the cheapest. You must access a depot as well as the buyer. Not always an option for some.Figure, you can send things too big for the othe parcel carriers that would otherwise require common carrier shipping, like ABF.Freight carriers pop in and if no one`s home they will retry once upon your arrangements. If you can sit around all day and wait, that`s fine.I always just run to their depot and be done with it.Which puts you right at the same logistics as Greyhound, for more money and, from my experience, more risk of damage.

Re: im new at selling stuff. how do i ship parts cheap
I have my own FEDEX account which only requires a credit/debit card. I enter the info, print the waybill and tape it to the box. I can then drop it at any shop that has FEDEX for free. Pretty good prices and items are insured up to $100 automatically. They have snuck a few hidden fees on me but that's business I guess.
For large parts greyhound is pretty fair as Special-K stated. I shipped two short bedsides (max 82" and 100 lbs") from PA to cincinnatti for $75 each. You could do it for twice that with anyone else. Flat rate boxes as stated are great for super heavy small items going long distance...
