94 Chevy Lift kit 6 inch

Hey guys I'm new to this site and was wondering if anybody knows where I could maybe find a used kit. I have a 94 chevy silverado ext cab. I am trying to restore this truck into something I'm proud of. I dont have a lot of money since I'm trying to fix the body and do the lift and wheel thing. Any help would be great. Thanks Bobby.

Yah I have pretty much looked everywhere. If somebody has one to sell they are wanting almost as much as a new one.

Check fullsizechevy.com, they pop up on there sometimes. Also check out the rough counrty lifts. They are around $900.00 new and a pretty decent lift.

Re: 94 Chevy Lift kit 6 inch

you can also peice together your lift over time..
like say buy a pair of fronts.. then shocks.. then rears... and shocks.. then in the future for like your birthday poly EVERYTHING...
see..
but in the end it ends up being mroe expensive...
which sucks..
well maby you'll luck out
you can always go cheap and spring your front and then block your rear...

Re: 94 Chevy Lift kit 6 inch

I was also thinking the same thing but I'm not sure what all I would need for a complete kit.

the only thing i would add to it is the "steering stabalizer" trust me it helps alot..
and it REALLLY sucks when the powersteering goes out..
you build muscle fast like that..
and here's another link

you can sell your first born son and buy that it =-)
good luck

Re: 94 Chevy Lift kit 6 inch

Thanks dammitmitchell for the advise. If I did block the rear what is the differance between shock and block?

Re: 94 Chevy Lift kit 6 inch

wheeew... first difference is money
blcosk are cheap and do not change the load capacity of the rear leafs....
if you want all "suspension" lift like i did.. you pay a little more so that your rear springs have a more dramatic arch and are longer....
now the other option is also an "add a leaf" which increases the load capacity of the springs by adding a single (one at a time) short thicker leaf spring

so.. block, add a leaf, then to full leafs
that's the order cheapest to most costly...
of you want to just mud and have fun, do your front up with a kit.. and then block your rear with the kit (included all in that first kit link i sent you)
now if you plan on towing with that truck..
you can do a shorter block lift and then add a leaf to that..
or you can do a full leaf spring lift with your towing capacity in mind...

and remember a add a leaf stiffens the hell out of your suspension..

and if my views are skewed in any way please let me know (this is to all of yas )

Re: 94 Chevy Lift kit 6 inch

Thanks dammitmitchell. My plans for the truck is really not to off road it but to drive it around. It will be my daily driver so thats why I was wondering about the block method. I dont want to beat myself to death. It just sucks looking for lifts and seeing older vehicles and the cost of those lifts are so much cheaper then the one I am needing. Looks like I'm going to have to suck it up and pay the extra $..
