Rockwell 221

Hey everyone.....

I am running a Rockwell 221 in a 69 Suburban. I am looking for the correct shift boot and retainer for that type of transfer case. The shifter is on the left side of the transmission hump. Is anyone else running a Rockwell 221 or something similar with the shifter on the drivers side? A picture of the correct set up would be great.

THanks in advance.

Here is mine:

Re: Rockwell 221

Here are a few of mine.
I can't find a replacement of the T-case shift boot anywhere, and the ones posted in the catalogs are twice the size and not round like my original one.

Not sure if you wanted pics of the boots, or the holes in the trans hump so here you go.

Re: Rockwell 221

Yep... The problem that I am having is that I cannot find the correct replacement transfer case shift boot either.

My transfer case and transmission sit a couple of inches lower than yours because of a body lift too.

THanks for the pictures.

That would be nice to find the correct boot, or something very close...

Here is a link to LMC, the one they show looks to be round. I think its for a 71-72 though. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=42

Re: Rockwell 221

Yep....

The one at LMC is the only one I can find also. I think GM stopped putting the rockwell in trucks in 69 and I think the one in LMC is used with a NP 205 maybe.

WHich transfer case is in your 62?

Re: Rockwell 221

It had the rockwell, but it has a 208 700r4 combo now.
