Changing my Open to a Locker...
To a Gov-Lock that is.... I know, Ive heard the horror stories... but I got it off of ebay a couple years ago and have never put it in.... I just want to make sure it will fit and any other info you guys may have, I'll have mechanical help from someone who actually knows what he's doing so thats not a problem.lol
I have a 12-bolt 8.875 3.73 rear. The Gov-lock is for 8.875 and is a 3 series. But Ive seen alot of posi's state a 4 series will fit 3.73 and up. So my question is will my gov-lock 3 series fit my 3.73? From my understanding it will but I just want to make sure. |

Re: Changing my Open to a Locker...
Most pinion mfg's make a 3.73 for both 3 & 4 series... one is thicker than the other, so I'd have to say they are not interchangeable.
It depends if your current 3.73 is a 3 or 4 series.
