bored...made a shifter

got bored and started with a strut rod from an old MAC floor jack, part of a police console and a welder. the gate is next and will operate with the squeeze trigger. I have it in my head but have not made the pieces yet. Lots of drilling, scrounging parts bins and time. Had a blast and if it goes in the truck, flat black, rat rod look currently, I'll leave it rough. If it was going in something pretty, I'd polish it up. The wood on the handle was scraps and I used old creeper caster nuts, deep female nuts, and some counter sunk type screws then filed the finger groves...gee I'm havin fun!

Re: bored...made a shifter

oh yeah, unlike most cable shifters that mount the cable attachment above the pivot point, this one will be below so for rear exit it would function normally, front exit it would work backwards which might be novel...

Kinda has a cool look to it! I like home-made shifters.

That looks wicked, looks like it's out of the Cadillac from the movie The Highwaymen.

Very "industrial" looking. Needs more holes in it...
