FRANKENTRUCK gets MSD control!

Yo! Y'all!
In the nearly never ending saga, FRANKENTRUCK got the final upgrade this evening, to MSD.
Three 50,000V discharges at the firing point instead of one (at revs below 3000) sounds like a no brainer, huh?!
Reduce misfires, burn the fuel inducted, reduced pollution, derive better fuel/hp efficiency, etc,...
Damn truck just keeps getting better with every upgrade!
Still working on the exact timing combination,...increasing initial advance slowly at this time. Installed Crane centrifugal advance components already. Turns the 33"ers on acceleration right now and it'll take a bit more initial too!

Finished rebuilding it's cab corners, and stabilizing surface rust over the body and bed. Now completing bodywork on the damaged front R corner.
Todd.

Re: FRANKENTRUCK gets MSD control!

I added the 20amp MSD HEI ignition module with ajustable rev limiter. Glad your MSD seemed to increase preformance on your truck too!

Re: FRANKENTRUCK gets MSD control!

Yo! Thanks all!
Guess I'd better post some pics!
Cab corners look like factory, and the pass. fender is nearly back to it's proper appearance,...had to drill and pull the dents out after pounding out what I could when the fender was off for door alignment!
MSD is in, truck is running with it, and I was finally able to move it from my wife's parking spot in the big garage (just in time before her patience broke!),...now back in it's small garage.
Still have a short list of small stuff to do before the truck is finished. And then paint someday soon (I hope).
Todd.

Re: FRANKENTRUCK gets MSD control!

Yo! Chlsnk!
I started with a brand new Summit HEI with the upgraded coil, so all I had to do was add the MSD and an Accel advance kit with the weights, springs, and adjustable vacuum advance. This is what I set my '76 Camaro up with three years ago, so I knew what improvement I'd get with the truck. Both vehicles have hydraulic lifters, so they kinda have their own "rev limiters"!
