Putting a 454 in, help
I have all parts for a 454 build, except for a block... what do i need on my truck to convert to a big block? it has all original driveshaft, 3 spd tranny, ect.

Motor mounts, putting the mounting plates in the big block position unless you don't care how the headers fit, clutch upgrade?

an aluminum one from LMC i think. its not made for the heat of a big block, says my step dad, who is an "expert" at this stuff

??? Just run water ,water wetter, and some electric fans if it gets hot. It should be fine. It's all in the details of the motor. A nice 383 will put out more heat than a smogger 454. It's all in your combo

I don't know how strong those 3spd trans are, maybe it'll live and maybe not.
You won't know on the drive shaft length until you have the eng/trans situated.
