Wrong BB Engine Mounts

A while back I found that Summit sold replacement mounts which from there photo looked like a match to mine, and only $4.95 each. So I sent pics of my mounts to Summit so there tech guy could compare mine with the ones they sell (just to be sure) and they confirmed they were a stock replacement. Yesterday I struggled to remove the worst mount on my truck ready to install my shiny new one from Summit and as soon as they where side by side it was plain to see they were not the same size...B*****ks. I have to really try and avoid things like this happening as i'm in the UK and sending these back would not be cost effective, not to mention all the added time and hassle.
So as I start a new hunt for new Engine Mounts, doe's anyone know what I should be specifically asking for to avoid this happening again.

I'll give them a ring Charles, just to make sure on the dimensions I hope they're right. It was the price tag at Summit that swayed me...Thanks mate.

I think these things are all one unit and can't be broken up...thanks for the suggestions mate.

I'll go with Classic Parts, provided they are the same size....so if anybody wants a set of mounts?

Re: Wrong BB Engine Mounts

The only reason that I suggested that is because you will probably find the same thing with most aftermarket mounts. I would hate to see you get the same thing again. WES

I was referring to the clamshells that mount to the motor, was wondering if they would line up and bolt to the summit replacements

Too bad they didn't work out, that would have been a killer deal. That sucks, those BB mounts can get a little pricey!

Thanks for the info. That explains a few things I've run into for sure. Now I gotta try to find the right stuff I guess.

Didn't mean to interupt the thread, thought I was helping.
