I'm back in the game with a '69 stepside 4x4!
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Mac and I live in an in-town area of Atlanta called Decatur/Oakhurst. I use to be active on this board back in 2003-2005 when I owned a '68 C-20 suburban and a '72 K5 blazer, but my attention turned to other things and they were sold to fund other projects. While I claim to be neither a Chevy or Ford man, I have owned many of both over the past 30 years, all in classic truck or SUV form. I've had over a dozon early model Broncos and have three right now in addition to the new stepside (but my deal with the wife was that I would sell an EB to get the Chevy, so I am getting in gear to do so).
Well, while home in VA last week visiting my family, I saw a truck that I have always coveted for sale in a yard near my mom's house. Long story short, I made a deal an the truck in soon to be mine (it's still in VA and I am back in Atlanta), but I hope to collect it within the month. I will post some photos of from work tomorrow (I can resize them there). It is rust free with a 350 and 3sp on the column. I will be hopefully putting a 700R tranny in it at some point and disc brakes on the front. With a NP205, what year(s) and donor vehicle should I look for for the 700R and adaptor? Thanks for the advice and I will post some photos soon. Mac |

Re: I'm back in the game with a '69 stepside 4x4!
Thanks Jack. I use to be Expat Atlantan here on the board when I was living in London with my job. I remember reading tons of posts by you back then (2004-2005).
I think I snagged a great daily driver and it's by first Chevy pick up (owned a '72 K5 and a '68 C20 subby before). Your builds look great on your site! |
